The story that I just posted from Clutch magazine offers a different perspective that you don’t hear regularly these days..and its basically around the fact that you should do what you want with you hair..I love this story because I just had a coversation about natural with someone the other day..What I have been noticing lately is that a lof of African-American women are becoming very consensus about natural products, the earth and more importanly their selves…And I think that is wonderful..I love to see people celebrating their natural beauty and being comfortable in their own skin. I think so many women become absorbed in this effort to say ” long hair dont care” but whats the point if you cant be happy in your own skin…Now dont get me wrong..I don’t think there is anything wrong with enhancing your natural beauty such as with makeup, a pressing comb, or a relaxer…but I think its time to realize the motivation behind certain actions. When we look at the earth and all of the toxics that we produce and release into the environment, I think more people should become consensus of the earth..But what I dont like is swagger jackers and atrend chasers…I feel like some people are not going to experience the fact that they are genuinely liberated when they cut their hair and change it up or even put down the falt iron a couple days out of the week. Black hair is beautiful…celebrate that..and the fact that unlike many races, we can curl our hair, make it stick straight up without gel or wear it silky straight.

Yes..random maybe..well needed definitely…The STL has been a different change in my life, but I have met some amazing people thus far…people that are creative passionate and most of all willing to network..it isn’t the bussle and tussle or a major big city like New York or LA, but there are some people here that produce work that is credible for any city… As a result I have been able to work with some great people already and I have a few ideas up my sleeve for the New Year myself…

Well since April I have graduated, lose some friends, found some friends, went to Miami, smoked my first cigar while having shrimp cocktail, worked full time and partied like a rock star, found old love, rekindled old love, made some grown up decisions, quit my job, moved out of Michigan, write for a newspaper, freelanced for a magazine and the most important created some well needed silence in my life…whew!!! yea,,, I’m sure there were some margaritas or three somewhere in there to get me through…but as many people prepare to write down, adjust and amend their new years resolutions…Iam well on my way past that trivial activity because sometimes we need a change way before the ball drops… Muah!!

Welp…Welcome to 2011…2010 was thee longest, diasterous, productive, emotional, hammish year of my life…But nonetheless im here. This past year has been one of those years that either strengthens you or breaks you…well im posting on my blog… so you see that I haven’t demolished to ashes…As I get back into the swing of things I will give you piece by piece a recap of 2010 in my eyes…Don’t worry I will not forget why I made this blog…FASHION will still be at the forefront of my mind…I just have to let my random thoughts co sign from time to time… I just thought of this but my life sort or did a 180 right when I disappeared from my blog, which has become a metaphor for my life in so many ways…But I plan to write through whatever is going on this year and keep you updayed with all the changes and evolutions I experience along the way…

I may have a slight shopping problem, I can go in most places and find something to wear. Vintage boutiques which are my favorite of all time, especially in New York. But also the places where you can shop and feel like one of a kind or kind of quirky.

Those are to name just a few, but Topshop has a new lookbook for the Spring and Summer, that you have to check out. Also they have a new Topshop store in New York, so no more just shopping online.
